Chess Fest 2026 Recap: Competition, Community, and Prizes
On Saturday, October 10, we welcomed players, families, and chess enthusiasts to Century Gardens Recreation Centre for Chess Fest 2026.
A Day of Chess and Activities
Our multi-division chess tournament gave players the opportunity to put their skills to the test against others at their level.
Guests could also win prizes through trivia challenges, while our craft station gave attendees a chance to take a break from chess and get creative with hands-on activities.
Thank You to Our Sponsors and Partners
We're grateful to Midland Transport, our Supporting Partner, for helping bring players and families together, and to Mr. Singh's Pizza, our Lunch Sponsor, for keeping everyone fuelled at lunch.
We're also thankful to the businesses and organizations that contributed prizes, gifts, and experiences:
GlowZone 360
Activate
Aga Khan Museum
Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE)
Brampton Parks and Recreation
KOMBAT ARTS Training Academy
Happy Kingdom Playground
Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)
The Rose
Cineplex
Chipotle
Kernels
These contributions helped us recognize our players with prizes and giveaways, while giving families a chance to discover new experiences.
Our Volunteers, Families, and Players
Thank you to our volunteers, who helped with registration, tournament coordination, and activities throughout the day. Your time and energy kept everything running smoothly.
We also appreciate the parents and families who came out to cheer on our players and join in the activities.
To all our chess players, thank you for the enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship you brought to this year's tournament!
Continuing Chess at EnRoute 2 Success
Chess Fest is one of the ways we bring our chess community together. Throughout the year, our free chess lessons, leadership programs, and special events give youth the chance to develop their skills, build confidence, and connect with other players.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Chess Fest 2026. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming chess lessons!
